Painting Course- Exploring Acrylics

Discover acrylics as a medium for painting in this course, specially designed by me for anybody who is keen on exploring their creative journey. The course runs for 6 weeks, every Friday from 5-8 PM.

You will be encouraged to develop and pursue individual lines of study and produce a range of artworks throughout the course time. This course is meant to enable uninhibited creative exploration and is not based on conventional/traditional knowledge of painting.

Exploring Acrylics

Dive into an exploration-based course designed to spark creativity and freedom of expression. The objective is to be able to navigate through Acrylics as a versatile medium while understanding basic concepts of painting and leading to discovering your personal style and interests driven by practice—no prior technical knowledge required.

Course structure

'Exploring Acrylics' is structured in 6 lessons conducted on Fridays, with each lesson lasting three hours. All materials needed will be provided in the studio. You will be using artist grade acrylic paints, brushes and high quality paper to develop paintings. If you are keen on using canvas for your practice, you are welcome to bring your own.

In this course you will-

Experiment with contemporary strokes and textures
Understand colour theory and how colours interact with each other
Study light, shadow and depth in landscape compositions
Practice diverse styles of painting like impressionism, fauvism, surrealism and their contemporary interpretations
Be encouraged to develop and pursue individual lines of study and produce a range of artworks throughout the course time

What to expect in each class

The class starts off with an introduction to the day's topic either through a small presentation or a few inspirational references or sometimes just a conversation with the group.
Each of you then choose a reference or idea relevant to the day's topic and start creating and experimenting.
You learn by doing – and I fully guide you in that.I look at what tips, feedback and guidance each of you really need based on what you do. I explain patiently and with great attention, after all, we are all here to learn, grow and have fun!
The course will be taught in English.

This course includes

All materials needed to let you get creative- Artist grade paints, brushes, palette knives, high quality paper
Tea and some snacks to keep you going for the 3 hours of creative play
Individually focussed guidance from me to help you with your artistic journey

Terms and conditions

The class will not be extended beyond the 3 hour duration even if the artworks are not finished. Please note that this course is about encouraging creative play and experiment with ideas, which means, a finished piece is bonus.
If you miss a class, it cannot be compensated on a different day. However, I send you an email with the topic discussed and the proceedings of the day
Payment made towards your registration cannot be refunded if it is cancelled later than a week before the course begins
