was introduced to yoga when I was around 12 y/o. I had no idea what it meant. To me it was just a form of exercise. I kept practicing the art for the next few years holding on to the same idea and slowly it started growing on me. I realized that it was so much more than just a form of exercise. It had become a way of life for me- a way of life that would just lead me to inner peace and happiness every single time I invested time in it. And today I am proud and happy yogi and a to-be yoga instructor.
YOGA is more than just twisting the body into complex postures. It's more about form than flexibility. It develops a faculty within us to enhance our functioning and to balance our mind and body at the same time. It's about bringing harmony between the 'shiva' and 'shakti' within us.
@Sadhguru beautifully explains that "yoga means to be in perfect tune. Your mind, body and spirit and the existence are in absolute harmony". I am forever greatful to have born into a culture that teaches such a wonderful science
